The position of the Qur'an In Islam

1.Understanding the Qur'an
 
       In terms of language (etymology) Al-Qur'an means "reading" or "read". Meanwhile, according to the term Al-quran is the word (revelation) Allah is revealed to the Prophet Muhammad SAW through intermediaries Gabriel is a miracle, by using Arabic, contains the instructions and guidelines for life for humans, and for people who read it is worship. The Qur'an is passed down gradually to Prophet Muhammad SAW which is narrated in mutawatir Which begins with the Surah Al-Fatihah and ends with the letter of An-nas.

2.The Function Of The Qur'an In Islam
1) As a legal source of Islamic teachings
2) As a guide for mankind in living a better life.
3) As a mercy to all the worlds
4) As the distinction between the right and the vanity
5) As a warning and conditioning
6) As a guide in solving something that arises in the community
7) As the greatest miracle of Prophet Muhammad SAW.
8) In closing the revelations Allah revealed to His Prophets and Messengers.

3.The position of the Qur'an as a source of Islamic law
 
The position of the Qur'an in Islam is as a source of Islamic law. from all sources of law that exist on earth. as Allah says in the Qur'an sura An-Nisa 'verse 59:
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا أَطِيعُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُوا الرَّسُولَ وَأُولِي الأمْرِ مِنْكُمْ فَإِنْ تَنَازَعْتُمْ فِي شَيْءٍ فَرُدُّوهُ إِلَى اللَّهِ وَالرَّسُولِ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ تُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الآخِرِ ذَلِكَ خَيْرٌ وَأَحْسَنُ تَأْوِيلا
Meaning: "O ye who believe! Observe Allah and obey the Messenger (of Allah), and ulil amri among you. Then if you differ on the opinion of something, then return it to Allah (the Qur'an) and the Messenger (sunnah), if you really believe in God and the day after. That is more important (for you) and better consequence. "(An-Nisa ': 59)
From the verse it is clear that the position of Al-Quran is as the most important source of Islamic law that can be used as a guide of life and guidance for mankind. There was no doubt whatsoever. And if that person holds fast to the Qur'an, it will not go astray forever.
